What you will see and do
We will serve you a great continental breakfast as we cruise along the California coastline and down to the Coronado Islands, taking in the wildlife as it awakens for another beautiful day. You will see many pinnipeds as we exit the harbor, and perhaps a pod of common dolphins will escort you up and down the coastline! Soon, we will reach the coastal continental shelf, looking for whales and dolphins, which frequent the area. Visit us in the winter, and you may be able to witness the beautiful migration of the Gray whales as they head towards the Baja peninsula to give birth to their calves. Soon, these new mothers will travel, with their calves, back up the California coastline to the cooler Alaskan waters. During the summer months, the blue whales come to visit our waters. You could witness the largest mammal to EVER live swim under our boat, their natural curiosity making them beautiful models for your camera!
When the trip dictates, we will make it down to the Coronado Islands in Mexico – no passport required! The Coronado Islands are protected wildlife areas, filled with rare birds, huge elephant seals and a variety of other pelagic life – including oyster catchers, red and brown boobies and plenty of tropic birds during the summer, and Bonaparte’s gulls during the winter months. If rare sightings are reported, trip course may vary.
Midway through your nature tour, you will enjoy a delicious lunch in the galley. All of your beverages are included, with alcoholic drinks additional. After a full day of seeing so much amazing wildlife, we will start our long journey back to shore, serving an afternoon snack, which includes a spread of cheese and crackers, fresh fruit and more!
